Belchamps Scout Centre

Belchamps Scout Centre is 30 acres of pasture and woodland, adjacent to 360 acres of public woodland in Hawkwell, near Hockley, Essex.
With 20 different camping sites and 6 buildings to choose from Belchamps is available for camping, indoor accommodation and activities all year round.

The site is just 6 miles from Southend sea front and as well as beaches, local activities include karting, horse riding, bowling, a sea life centre and fun fairs.
There is a sports centre just 10 minutes walk away. London is a 30 minute train ride from Hockley Station, which is just 15 minutes walk from the site.
On-site facilities include hot showers, well stocked wood piles and a providore, selling sweets, drinks, souvenirs and basic groceries.

Belchamps has over 16 onsite activities including archery, rifle shooting, cork gun shooting, climbing, abseiling, assault course, pedal karts, team building, laser guns, orienteering and pioneering.

During the summer season the site runs organised volleyball competitions, campfires on Thursdays and Saturdays
